The Kanzeon* Committee has formalized what has been a long standing tradition at Buddha Eye: helping members of the temple community when they find themselves in difficult times. In the past, this has included: preparing meals; giving rides to doctor’s appointments; taking children to school; doing a couple of hours of house or yard work, walking dogs, etc. To facilitate this kind of help, the Kanzeon Committee created a group call the “Active Care Team” (ACT). This group is emailed when help is needed; ACT members then have the opportunity to sign up for tasks to directly assist fellow sangha members. Signing up with ACT does not mean that you’ll be obliged to do any particular activity; you’ll simply be kept in the loop when such opportunities arrive. You can volunteer as fits your preference and availability.
Though many members of the Buddha Eye community are already part of ACT, the Kanzeon Committee would like to invite others to join in. You can use this link to sign up. It will only take a minute or two of your time to do so.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Linda Seymour is a member of ACT (and the Kanzeon Committee) and can field your questions: ljseymour@yahoo.com
