It is such a strange thing to have to trust in our path while being such deluded beings. I have an ego and I want to be right and I want to get what I want. I thought for a long time that trying my best and following my heart was supposed to lead me out of suffering and into the fairytale world of the you-can-do-anything life that had been promised to me as an American child. I'm still trying to teach myself that striving to plant good karmic seeds isn't about me getting what I desire.
